kbell
I hope that I am not the only person who is concerned by the way Ironcad 5 is keyed to a specific machine. This punishes legal owners of the software by forcing them to put the software on one specific machine, basically forever. I for one would prefer a hardware USB key that would allow the owner to easily switch machines as needed (working from home, new computer, old computer in the shop, etc.) This key should cost less than $100. Any other ideas??? Thanks, Ken
mpawlak
A license server would solve your problem for machines in one location, but it wouldn't help for working from home. I'm still waiting for more details. id='Arial'> http://www.ironcad.com/support/community/index.php?showtopic=
Chris Lohman
I sent your message on to the people that decided to go with the current licensing model. I'll let you know if they respond. Chris Lohman IronCAD
kbell
Would it be possible for Ironcad to check an internet server everytime it was launched looking for a duplicate serial number? This seems like the most effective way of allowing the legal owners of the software to use it where ever they are.
Guest dlalonde
I really like the idea of a hardware key, or a transferable software key as aerohydro does with multisurf.
rliu
I've been an Ironcad user since Trispectives days, but this activation scheme stinks. I don't think the $400 telecommuter license is an acceptable solution. I, for one, will not be renewing I should be able to use software on my laptop as well as my desktop.
