ICD BOM Question

Hi, community users!

1.

image.thumb.png.89a9accb5412ce6132a652e01a7f8d0f.png

I made two BOMs in one drawing file!

The other sheets linked 'A' sheet's BOM!

And I added 'B' sheet and BOM is linking with other ICS!

'B' sheet containing many 'A' assembly so 'B' BOM has many times more Q'ty!

Is there a way linking the other sheets to 'B' Sheet's BOM?

2. How can I resize BOM?

This is not a resize handle! And I can't find any options!

Hey there Kim,

1.  I'm not sure I totally understand the question or intent here.  Are you wanting to show the "B" Sheet's BoM on all of the other sheets in the ICD document?

  • The way we work with ICD is a bit different from other users, I think, however we tend to use one ICD per assembly/subassembly/part.  Occasionally, a complex assembly will have multiple sheets to capture all the details and views needed.  With this in mind, on each sheet, the BoM is tied to a specific view or group of associated views (this is to control/unify item bubbling).
  • Sometimes we have to get creative in order to show multiple (usually cropped) views from different configurations to "share" the same BoM (as visible on the sheet) by building BoMs for these other views off the sheet/paper space.  This way item bubbling is consistent, although technically pulling from different BoMs.
*If you're interested, I can put together an example as soon as time allows

2.  To resize the BoM, you have to Right Click --> Edit  (or double-click) to open up the BoM.  Then you have to manually adjust the column widths (and heights) to fit your space.

Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks Kevin and Sam!

1. I'm sorry, to help you understand, I will add more explanations!

I have a BOM in 'A' sheet and the Part number '01' sheet's Qt'y linked in 'A' sheet that 1 Qt'y from 'A' sheet!

And 'B' sheet has 12 'A' assemblies! So it has 12 Qt'y that Part number '01'!

For sure, if I create every parts with 'B' sheet, it will solve the question, however, I have to re create the dimensions of each part again!

Soryy, I can not open the sample file for now, because IronCAD stretched out. Maybe I'm using the Radeon... I will attach this later!

2. It is solved with edit option!

I would like to make a remark to the resize.

I asked this already a long time ago, why can we not rezise by pulling the red corner blocks?

I think this was solved in CAXA.

so it will resize all the text and lines in on command!

Calm down man! it is enough if there is another way. I think this is a minor problem. I can wait even a century! lol!

I think you cannot resize because the text is industry standard size. It would mess with format if you were to resize. I may be wrong, but thats what I always thought.
