Peter
Hi, Can you help? Do you know how to make hole through two metal sheet plates (parts) with one drop of H cylinder? I tried it but I did not find the hole to stay in second part after when I move it to different location. Thank you
IronKevin
Right-click and drag out the H Cylinder onto the plates and select Assembly Feature.
Cary OConnor
If you use the "Assembly Feature" note that it is not a true feature on the part level but rather the assembly. If you need it to be a feature of the part, you need to right-click on it and convert to a part feature. However, they are independent features at that stage. HDEAR
Wow! I never knew about that feature ( Right click - All assemblies/parts... ) Curiosity! - under what circumstances would you use the third option? Also, how do you go about modifying it? I tried the option but couldn't work out where you modify it. Harley Edit - Oh, I just saw Cary's note. When you go to do unfold using that feature, the holes aren't there. What a pity Edited November 18, 2020 by HDEAR
Cary OConnor
You would use the third in case you don't know what the scope would be which you would add later (also it can be faster to edit it to the desired size and place before you affect the parts). To edit the scope, you right-click on the assembly feature and select Edit Feature Scope. Then click the parts to affect and click the add button. SSIMMONS
This is a cool feature for sure. A while back I answered a question about making a pyramid using this feature and it was very helpful in the process. It wasn't long before that when I realized it was a feature at all. -Spencer
