tlehnhaeuser
Does anyone know a way to Animation the entire Scene less than 360 degrees? I am trying to avoid having to Select all the parts and make an assembly of them. I am also trying to avoid using Camera. thanks Tom
Guest IronKevin
Yes, after dropping the Spin Animation into the Scene Background, edit it's amount of rotation the same way you woul dany Spin animation. IK

tlehnhaeuser
OK what am I missing. I can't find where to edit the spin rotation in the Editor. When I create a spin thru the emotion toolbar it gives me one shot to enter the # of degrees. Is my brain that fried that I can find where to edit. Mike Twining
Look for the animation path for the filename (as opposed to the part name). undefined

tlehnhaeuser
OK guys nice joke Now how do I really get the scene to rotate only 90 degrees insead of 360?
Guest IronKevin
That's no joke, the Pan entry should be 360 on a typical Height Spin, then edit it to 90 and that's it. Here's a video to be sure IK Spin.zip
tlehnhaeuser
OK I see whats wrong, I have been trying to do this on a length Spin and it won;t work. apparently only works on a height spin

tlehnhaeuser
Ok got it now Pan = HEIGHT Rotation Tilt = LENGTH Rotation Roll = WIDTH Rotation Edited August 11, 2006 by tlehnhaeuser
Guest mwalls
Yup, I had this same issue back in July. http://www.ironcad.com/support/community/i...?showtopic=3956 I sure would like to see a simple one click action to be able to edit a simple degree input. It would make life much easier. Also, there is not much of a feedback on the screen that shows there is a spin animation hooked to it, like it does for a move animation. tlehnhaeuser
I agreem I think the terminilogy was created from a movie director which for animators makes senxce but not engineers. Maybe this can be addressed in the future
Bernd Meißner
I think the terminilogy was created from a movie director... Not quite. It just sounds like that. The correct terms, used e.g. for robotics, aeroplanes and (here comes the movie director!) camera control are: Roll (rotation around x-axis) Pitch (rotation around y-axis) Yaw (rotation around z-axis/vertical axis) "Pan" is usually a linear movement of the camera, parallel to the stage, i.e. up/down and left/right (z- and x-movement), without changing any of the above parameters. "Dolly" would be the missing movement, changing the distance between camera and target (by moving the camera towards or away from the target, y-movement). Just to have an opinion here, too: I prefer a terminology that says "z-rotation" (for shaking my head), "x-rotation" (for nodding) or "y-translation" (for moving towards/away from s.th.).
