Intellishape Problem

I have a scene where extruded parts are not able to be modified via handles.

This includes standard catalog items like blocks etc.

If a block is dragged into the scene, you can adjust it via handles when first dropped.

Once deselected & reselected, you adjust the intellishape handles, the intellishape box changes, but the part doesn't.

New scenes appear OK. I have rebooted computer with no change.

Ferfer to attached file, parts 131 & 132.

Regards,

Davo

Hello Davo,

These are very large parts, Parasolid seems to be having trouble at that size.

Switch that part to the ACIS kernel and it will regenerate properly.

My new IC tag line...Switch the kernel, stupid. IC now has so many "features" that only work in one kernel, its getting hard to keep track. In fact, I have an ER to include a large Switch the kernel, stupid button that is activated whenever the pointer is above any 3D geometry. As always, please feel free to use this in any future marketing, WEB or logo development.

There are no definite guidelines regarding which kernel is best for which job. Geometry being so unique it's really hard to say. Also, each release the kernels improve. I use to say that Parasolid blending was stronger then ACIS but I'm no longer convinced of that.

My personal impression, for what it's worth, is that ACIS is currently more stable and a bit easier on the CPU than Parasolid, so I use ACIS as the default kernel.
