djohannesen
I'm currently looking at a new computer system. Typical Ironcad files are 5-15MB. No surfacing used in files, but linked & multiple assemblies within files are common. Don't want to go over the top with specs., but would like to know what people recommend for graphics, hard drive, ram & processor etc. (With graphics cards, what ones to avoid also.) Mike Allen
We are using Dell GX270 (3GHz processor, 112GB hard drive), with 3GB RAM and Quadro FX500 (128 MB) video card. The system performs quite well - just don't try to use the nView Desktop Manager, as it will severely degrade IronCAD's performance.
Guest IronKevin
I would look at a minimum of P4-2.0Ghz with 1gb of RAM. Choose a video card that will support the level of complexity you like to visually interact with, Zoom, Orbit, etc. If you can get a 30-day return policy that would be best.
