B. Ludin
Can somebody tell me how the 3D horizontal and vertical measuring tools work in IC7 (Pu1)? Up to IC6, they used to work in a pretty logical fashion, i.e. horizontal and vertical would simply be defined by the camera view. This has changed in IC7 and I can't figure out the logic behind the new behaviour . Can somebody enlighten me? Beat
Guest IronKevin
They are working the same in 7.0 PU1 as they were in 6.x. Are you sure you have PU1 installed? 7.0 without PU1 has a bug where the Hortizontal mesures vertical and vice-versa. IK
Mike Twining
Am I to understand that the vertical and horizontal planes are defined by the camera view? Does that mean I can use the "horizontal" smart dimension to measure both vertical and horizontal directions by simply rotating the camera? I have never understood how these directions were defined, but associating them to the camera view seems kinda strange to me... MikeT 8053[/snapback] Yeah, it seems odd when coming from another CAD system. However, it is quite intuitive once you get used to it (provided they are working right). Also - they only work appropriately if you have exactly the right view (use that finger view selector thingy).
