Data management solutions for IronCad and other documents

Hi All,

which data management systems (PDM systems) do you use for your IronCad and other engineering data? We are evaluating possible solutions to manage our data, including all cad files.

There's DDM (Design Data Manager) which seems to be the only pdm that can handle ironCad files, and there's the Synergy Platform. But it seems that users have not really adopted the cloud based solution.

On this forum i've mostly seen SharePoint and Windows File Explorer. Anyone tried Windchill or Teamcenter or...?

Any tips, advice and recommendations are appreciated.

Greetings

Stefan

It depends a lot on your needs and complexity of what you are trying to achieve. DDM is a full PDM system that has a lot of capabilities. Synergy is a simplified management tool for the basic revision/versioning and viewing needs. It currently is cloud under IronCAD but we have abilities to offer it on a private cloud or potentially locally. The different really is the server management (same when you do the PDM route). If you have an IT group, then that is less of an issue.

Others have used even more simplified tools like MS OneDrive and Google Drive. Only issue is to make sure to be aware of their sync'ing process. It can cause issue if you access something that is not fully sync'd.

We also have another PDM offering but we usually talk to directly to you to determine if it is a fit or not (again it needs a server and management of the server).
