tgjang
Hi I tried to create a chain on a curve, but it failed. What should I do? Thanks. Solidworks_Chain.mp4 CHAIN.ics Edited March 25, 2023 by tgjang
TMIC_Jason
We are also interested in this question, Of course, if it can be added to standard parts or ICM Mech, I think it will be of great help to mechanical design customers.
IronKevin
Try the TriBall right-click Link Along Curve option.
Bertrand Kim
Hi jang, Say hello to Sana for me. I haven't tried Kevin's suggestion above, but I guess there will be something problem with the "direction" of the part with that method. In my experience, this is not easy to get, and I've already posted a simiallr suggestion. The creation of chains along a path and the creation of cableveyor go hand in hand. aalbè
Hi tgjang, you can use Elements Along 3DCurve in the IC mechanical tools catalog, put the anchor in the center of the chain link and orient it along the tangent of the curve and find the correct number of pieces. you can't, however, tie the chain to the curve... tgjang
Thank you very much. aalbe. How to model chains is very informative. The attached video is one I made over 20 years ago using Pro/E (now Creo Parametric). I would be grateful if someone could tell me how to create an animation with chains like this in IronCAD. Thanks. ^^ Machine Gun Ammunition Loader.wmv
