hEINSTEIN
Hi @Malcolm Crowe How can I get a sectioned Isometric view in CAXA? I want to show this view: But it CAXA seems to ignore the section tool. Thanx in advance
IronKevin
Did you try putting the 3D Section in Precise mode? (right-click)
hEINSTEIN
Yes I did but that messes the assembly up. This is with the section and this with section set to precise
IronKevin
Right, the Precise mode has trouble with Linked parts, try an Assembly Feature cut. (Right-click and drag out a H Block on the assembly)
hEINSTEIN
Do I make an exploded configuration or is there a better way of doing it?
IronKevin
Configurations are optional but not a bad way if you want view with and without the cut.
HDEAR
Hi Heinrich, I found it best when you had finished your model/assy as far as you wanted to take it, then copy the whole thing to a new scene, unlink everything ( File-->Find references--> Unlink all ), carry out your section, go into precise mode, unlink the offending linked parts, save as 'Part name-section model' then you're good to go. Takes just a couple of minutes but I found this the easiest work around. Configuration assemblies can have their own problems if you're not on top of things. Of course there's the section tool in CAXA itself, not too sure how you apply that to isometric, but Malcolm may have ideas. Oh, by the way, you get the same problems with sectioned views when using Keyshot. Again, a couple of minutes clean-up and you're good to go.
