General arrangement view on one layout (sheet) with callouts to detail views on another layout (sheet)

Hi,

It is usual on engineering drawings to have callouts to details on other sheets. Is is possible to put a detail callout on one layout and then place the detail on another layout in CAXA?

Regards,

Alan

Hi Alan,

1. That isn't typical for Mechanical Engineering, but it is typical for Structural (Civil) Engineering and Architecture.

2. Yes there are 3 (or more) ways to achieve this in CAXA DRAFT; but not using the "Detail View" tool (this tool will only generate Detail Views on the same sheet).

There are advantages and disadvantages to the different methods. But I suggest that you first try using the "Crop View" tool option, to see whether that fits in with your workflow. In the sheet where you want the "Detail View" generate the same view as on your other sheet, however at the enlarged scale that you want. Then "Crop" this enlarged view to display only what you want to see on that sheet. Then go back to the other sheet and add a matching "Boundary" that represents the area of the "Detail View" in the other sheet.
