Malcolm Crowe
Attached is the first of two demonstration videos regarding the positioning of Shapes using Smart Dimensions. For some users this might cover some points that they didn't pick-up on from other demonstration videos (such as those on the IRONCAD Academy website). While this video shows the positioning of "Parts" relative to each other, the same principles can also be applied for positioning "Intellishapes" relative to each other. In this case it is necessary to first select the "Intellishape" that you want to move, then select a point (edge or face) on that "Intellishape", followed by a point (edge or face) on the other "Intellishape". Malcolm Crowe
Here I've attached the second demonstration video, which shows the influence of selecting points, verses edges, verses faces. IronKevin
Malcolm, Why haven't you upgraded to 2022?
Malcolm Crowe
Hi Kevin, For some things (and clients) we are using 2022 and for others we are using 2021. When it comes to creating and demonstrating catalog items we use 2021, so that those tools are usable for clients still using 2021. Also, in 2022 we actually lost some functionality (regarding 3D curves); so for those projects we need to continue using 2021 until those issues are fixed. IronKevin
Interesting, I have a power user here in the States who is absolutely in love with the new 2022 3D Curve. Have we filed what you found missing?
Malcolm Crowe
I also love what has been done regarding the 3D Curve tools. Unfortunately though the fillet tool creates individual curves that don't remain tangent when changes are made (and there is no tangent constraint available). Also, the ability to add curves tangent to each other has been lost. I reported both of these issues during Beta testing. Malcolm
IronKevin
Good point, I remember those now, just wanted to make sure they got reported.
