Smart Dimensions - Reference Geometry and Transferring to Drawing (CAXA)

When it comes to dimensioning holes on cylindrical surfaces, the irregular geometry that is projected presents some challenges regarding object snapping. This is a good example of where transferring Smart Dimensions from the 3D Scene to the 2D Drawing can be helpful.

In addition, it can also be helpful to add some reference geometry to the 3D Scene; where the Smart Dimensions can be applied to this added reference geometry instead. If this reference is constructed as a "Structured Part" then the geometry can be hidden without the associated Smart Dimensions disappearing (which is the case for "Innovative Parts").

The attached video demonstrates the above, along with some additional tips within CAXA DRAFT.
