Guest IronKevin
For better photo-rendering effect: Place a virtual room in your Scene. It can be as simple as a shelled out box that emvelops the parts to be rendered. Place lights inside the box. Also, right click the Lights, go to Properties, Light, Advanced and set Ray-traced shadows*. This with give you the sharpest shadows and best glass rendering possible when choosing the Ray-traced rendering option. * if you want softer shadows, increase the shadow resolution to 1000 or higher (under Shadow Buffer) and adjust the Edge Softness. Guest IronKevin
Chris talked me into showing a comparsion example: The only difference is the box is missing and default lighting is used on the right. A single Point light with textured box is on the left. The knob has "Shiny Silver" applied in both views.

Robert Andersson
In addition to this, it can be a good idea to use IronCAD's 3D template function. Save that good looking rendering scene as a template, to be used in future projects. (File/ Save as/ change to template file type) Then open a new scene from that template, and drag/ drop your models from a catalog (or File/ insert ) and create the images needed. Then you can fine tune your renderings scenes with more or less lamps, different background images, cameras and so on. This can be more effective compared to doing this every time you want a nice rendering. Robert Andersson
