  1. How about an enhancement request to be able to use the regular fillet and chamfer tools on sheetmetal? I'd like to be able to use regular H features as well. Its always bothered me that you have to use different tools when working with sheetmetal parts. It seems like a different programmer wrote the sheetmetal portion and it isn't consistent with the rest of IronCAD.
  2. Is there a way to turn off the black lines of a torus?
  3. Yes, good question. My section views always start with "B" and I thought this was a bug. I didn't realize it was saved with my templates.
  4. There is a setting that effects the stagger offset, its just not labeled that way. On the text format tab in the dimension properties box the value entered in "Distance of Text from Line/Leader" affects the stagger offset. Try lowering this value in a drawing with staggered dimensions and then restagger the group and see if you can get an offset that looks good. Then change it in your drawing template for future drawings.
  5. Will Windows allow you to get the name of the user who has write permissions? This is the problem we have with scenes, drawings or catalogs. IronCAD informs you that another user has the file open but I have to walk around the office, or in some cases call someone in a different plant to find out who this person is.
  6. I've never been able drop a sheet metal fillet on a non square corner and get the result I want. The cross section of the fillet is made up of an arc and a square corner, so dropping it on a non square corner gives you bad results.
  7. I don't understand your fix. "simply grad the color onto the part" ? To fix it I usually select the painted surface, then select the fill eyedropper, then "suck up" a non-painted surface of that part and then apply that color to the thread painted surface. The problem with this is if you change the color of the part, that surface will not change. It seems to happen mostly on parasolid parts. I just stumbled across this the other day but haven't played around to say for sure that it only happens on parasolid parts. To check, drop a block and copy it to a new part. Then set one part as acis and one as parasolid. Drop a tapped hole on the edge of each part. On my system the thread paint only bleeds to the edge of the parasolid part.
  8. The holes and sizes is nice, but it does not sort them in the table. So to find alike holes you have to search through the table to find all the A's, B's etc. Take a look at the attached file with the holes and sizes option. Notice what happens to the letters after F. It goes to G and then HH and even a KKK! Thanks for pointing out that you can move the labels. That works fine. 3876A01 Table Top with Hole Table 2.icd
  9. I was excited when I heard hole tables were included in IronCAD 6. After playing around with the new feature for a few days I have to say I am very disappointed. Here are things that need to be improved in order to make the new command useful. 1. You need to be able to box select a group of holes. We use hole tables on drawings with hundreds of holes. To individually select each hole does not save time! 2. You need to be able to sort the table automatically. When the machinist enters the CNC program he would prefer all common holes to be in order. I realize there is a way to reorder the table one hole at a time, but this is painful. The way I produced the attached drawing with them in order was to have them in order in the browser and unsuppress each group of holes at a time and add them to the table. 3. It would be awesome if the notes information came from the label in the browser. This is how I wish the regular hole callouts worked. That seems to me to be a great way to incorporate custom callouts that many people have been asking for. Notice on the attached drawing I only put the note for the first item in the list because I had the holes grouped. This works ok but it may lead to confusion. Especially because on the tapped holes the diameter displayed depends on if you select the solid circle or the dashed circle. For the #10-32 taps I must have selected the solid circle sometimes and the dashed circle other times. 4. There needs to be a way to save a default table with the columns already setup. It could either be like a bill of material table or saved to the drawing template. Who would want radius as the default anyway? 5. There needs to be a way to move the numbers attached to the holes. Sometimes they fall on top of other holes (see attached file) I attached some drawings of how we currently do hole tables and how the new feature compares. To make the drawing our old way it took me about 2 hours. It took me about the same time to use the new hole table command. If you could incorporate the items listed above I bet I could do it in 10 minutes or less! So I doubt I will be using the new command. I would welcome the opportunity to test an improved version, however. 3876A01 Table Top with Hole Table.icd 3876A01 Table Top.icd 3876A01 Table Top.ics
  10. You can use the box select tool to select a smaller view with a bigger view on top of it. This saves the step of moving one out of the way.
  11. I too have a fire GL2 and I notice the problem exactly as you describe it.
  12. I have some more info on the slowness experienced when switching windows in 5.2. It is a problem with IronCAD not clearing out the RAM after closing a file. Here are the details. This morning I had a very large scene and drawing open. When the two files were my computer was using 850 MB of RAM. Working in these files was slow, but I expected this as they have lots of parts. When I was done working with these files I closed them both, leaving IronCAD open with no open files. Then I opened up a simple part and started to make a drawing. Switching windows back and forth between the scene and the drawing was very slowing (around 8 seconds). Then I checked the ram and it still said over 800 MB. So I closed IronCAD completely and then restarted IronCAD and continued to work on the same drawing with no problems. I never had this problem with previous versions. It's new in 5.2.
  13. I have noticed abnormally long waits(3-5 seconds) when switching windows from a scene to a drawing with 5.2. I haven't got an error message though. All the files I was working with were originally created in 5.0. I created some parts from scratch in 5.2 and made drawings and I didn't noticed any delays when switching back and forth.
  14. So how do you copy this information in the registry?
