  1. I wish marketing a product was the small part of the business, unforntunately it is a necessary evil for all companies unless your are a sole supplier of a product. You shell out a SH$%^ load of money for a gamble of who will respond. I have personally seen companies purchase inferior products for the mere fact that they had seen there name in magazines often. We have just gone through a full marketing compaign for our company. I have absolutely no background in the field thats why we got experts. We had interviewed many marketing firms and the common topic for ALL of them was repeatition. Its not how good your product is, its pounding an image into a consumers brain, in part... brainwashing. Thats why ProE beat SDRC (even though at ithere inception SDRC was a better product) thats why SolidWorks beats everyone (even though IronCAD is a better product). Just my 2.5 cents worth
  2. Cary, I will send the files to you. Also dsulli may have a point with space in file names. I will try fixing that prior to emailing the files. Thanks
  3. Does anyone else have trouble with PDF export on files? The export works but when I go to read in Acrobat 5.0 an error pops up stating error processing page. This only happens on some drawings. I haven't been able to get a handle what may be the cause (Iso Views, Shading, File Size, etc..?). It appears to happen at random. Any input is welcomed.
  4. I had purchased two TriStar StarStations about a 1-1/2 ago. These were promoted as CAD workstations. Well I had to rebuild both of them 4 times already from stratch not to mention that they use the Elsa Gladiac graphics cards before I learned that Elsa didn't exist anymore. So I got two machines with obseleted vcards... so getting drivers is a nightmare. Anyway, I won't do that again.
  5. My T-Shirt just fell apart recented. Its funny you guys mentioned it, because its time to get a new one. I would love to get a slick high-end shirt beyond a T-Shirt to wear to weddings (haha)
  6. I have to agree. I feel many IronCAD users hunger to see print of IronCAD in the mags (I know I do).
  7. Eyup. I tried to install with a system that has a SpaceBall attached. A pop-up tells me that it "No 3DxWare device available". Is this app exclusively for SpaceMouse?
  8. Chris, I agree with Rick, The true 6 degrees of rotational movement would be great. Also, like I said before, maybe having the ability for the SpaceBall to track keypoints for animation. I'm not 100% sure, but theres a program called Merlin3D that does this using the SpaceBall. This would be a great selling point for IronCAD in addition to its already excellent animation abilities.
  9. YES, we need the SpaceBall. I use it with some other less desireable programs and believe or not it makes the inferior CAD prgram more fun to work with and also more intuitive. I REALLY WANT IRONCAD to WORK WITH IT.!!!!! Life would be more fun. Also maybe theres a way that IronCAD take it a step further to make it a IC Enhancement. In other words, have the ability of the SpaceBall to create animations by somehow tracking its movement.
  10. Thanks, I figured it out by myself after posting this message, BUT I never thought of the Isometric configuration method. I like that alot. It pays to post simple questions...you learn something new everyday.
  11. Does anyone know of a way to create a section in 2D and be able to show certain parts in the section.. NOT sectioned? IE: I do not want to section through bolts, screws, etc... Thanks
  12. If you go right click on backround of scene and go to RENDERING and click on DISPLAY HIDDEN EDGES, it doesn't matter if solid, solid-dim, or dashed, Each will allow you to pick through parts/assys to modify hidden edges. Hope this helps.
  13. Chris, in the past it worked for both copy and linked but let me double check Tom
  14. OK good luck. Also keep in mind that IronCAD automatically creates "lighter" copies of parts/assys when you use the TriBall to Copy items. Thats what the grey highlight indicates. Although is speeds up the process, the Facet Parts speed it up more.
  15. IronCAD has a similar feature called "Facet Parts". We change our settings shown in the image below and then save the assy to a catalog. Make sure the anchor is at the logical location for dragging back into scenes at common points. Also sonetimes we'll generate VRML files and use them as lightweight parts especially for springs. Hope this helps...Tom lightweight.bmp
  16. I have your eval and will attempt learn your IronPRO. From what Ihave heard. and seen it looks like a great Add-on To IronCAD and I am enthustiastic to play with it. Tom
  17. Are they any Moldmakers out there using IronCAD to create Cores and Cavitys. We are trying to find an effiecient way to do this in IC. Any help is appreciated. Tom
  18. Does anyone know of a wya to assign a particular dimension from a intellishape to a "COULMN HEADER" on the Bill of Materials. Our goal is to have cylinder Diameters numeric value show up on a Bill of Materials automatically. Any help is appreciated. Tom
  19. IronCAD does not currently support multi-cpu processing. There is no CAD program that I am aware that supports multi-threading. To my knowledge, the only applications that make use of multiple cpus are Analysis software such as FEA, etc... due to the excessive math "crunching" required to perform these analysis.
  20. Yes, I got some from randersson. They worked great. Inovate read all the information and even read the reference planes used in Catia to create parts.
  21. Once you have assigned dimensional parameters to a intellishape, part or assy you can no longer use the handles to altered the dimensions. When we assigne parameters we also "turn-off" the handle for the appropriate parameter assigned. This visuall tells us that we have a parameter assigned to this L,W or H and therefore cannot drag the handle for this dimension. Hope this helps
  22. This may be a simple one, but before you can pattern a sheetmetal intellishape you must first delete the dimensions that are automatically attached to the shape as you drag onto stock.
  23. I have been trying to find out how to have text boxes in the 2D drawing environment have the ability to automatically populate with information from the Scene. I noticed that when I right click on a text box and go to Properties, theres a Custom tab. I tried to set one of the options for example "Author" but it will not "grab this infomation from the Scene Properties. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks Tom
  24. If youe heart is set on Stereolithograpghy we can grow quite cost effectlively depending on your quantities. WE use various SOMOS materials that are durable and have a substantial shelflife. I reccomend making your object as small as possible without giving up integrity to it. Typically we have done this in past years and an item the size of a keychain or slightly larger is a good size to use as a general rule of thumb. This allows us to "grow" more items in one process therefore reducing costs. If you wish us to quote, just send the stl file and we'll look at for you. Good Luck Tom@magnacad.com
  25. There is also a black and white line image in the "Abstract" catalog that can be dragged on the the side surface of your"paper block". Then under SmartPaint change its settings to "Slide Projector" and change as needed the orientation and "scale" of the image.
