    "Save as Template for Catalog" should be for if you are going to add the sheet to the Catalog.

    Just drag and drop the image on the sheet. Save as Template (the template folder can be found in Options, Directories.

    I see, your surface is projecting a spline, no, that cannot be converted to lines and arcs in the Sketch. You could probably copy/paste it into CAXA Draft and convert there then paste back to sketch but that's a bit of labor.
