  1. Hi Henrique, The Styles and Layers have got a new look since IronCAD 8 PU1. In IronCAD 8 and earlier the settings were separated and sometimes hard to find because they could be very "deep down". Now everything should be found under the Styles and Layers button on the left side. You also have a option for Line Types which are used in different Styles. 1. Line Types: A list of the existing line types, thin, thick, dotted etc. 2. Styles: Controls the settings for all the elements in the drawing ie views, dimensions etc. Layers: Controls visibility, if a layer is locked and what color it may use. I don't know if there's any short demo film or something that shows how it works nowadays?
  2. To follow up another thread in this matter... I just want to tell everyone that also uses a Mac Notebook (MacBook) with an Intel Core Duo processor, that you can now run IronCAD/Inovate in emulated Windows, which is possible nowadays (but you who have one probably already knew that ). We have a user who has installed and activated a USB-dongle licensed Inovate 9.0 He hasn't used it that much, so I can't tell you anything about the performance. Maybe someone else has some experience of running Windows and IronCAD on Mac? Here's some info: http://www.apple.com/macbook/macbook.html http://www.apple.com/getamac/windows.html OS bootloaders: http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/ 3 different bootloaders to choose from: http://download.onmac.net/ A finally a test running Win Vista; MacBook vs. Sony Vaio http://www.computerworld.com/action/articl...ticleId=9003111
  3. Bo, When you export to dwg/dxf, the "Explode views on export" option can sometimes make this error or "invalid input" to show up. If you deselect that option (in the export dialog) maybe your export will create a correct dwg/dxf file. The explode can easily be done in AutoCAD by selecting the view(s) followed by [X] on the keyboard then [Enter].
  4. Hi Christian, I'm sorry, I wasn't that clear. The line you make around the area you want as a Custom Detail View has to be wider. By some reason the edges of the detail in the Custom Detail View doesn't light up if the line around is to narrow. Check out this drawing: P_004___001_support.icd
  5. Hi Christian, I think this is a known issue. You'll have to make the Custom Detail View a little bit bigger, then the dimensioning will work ok. It worked when I tried it on that drawing.
  6. Hi all! I sent a mail to TechSoft in december regarding hoops in FF and got this answer: I’m afraid that we still have no immediate short term plan to support Firefox as this is a major development effort and would take many months of work. We do however continue to take on projects that our customers require and it’s very possible that in the next few months we decide to create a Firefox plugin with HOOPS and I will keep you posted. How important is this for you and when do you need it? Best Regards, Yanick Another answer: I too think it would be good to have Firefox support and will push for that in HOOPS 15 which should be ready at the end of next year. I will keep you posted. Best Regards, Yanick I sure hope it will go faster than that! But no plans right now as it seems...
  7. Hi David. Check out these attached pictures:
  8. Hi! I've seen this a couple of times. It seems like the register can't find the proper value, but creates a new value instead. There's no folder under the ...\Template folder that's called 0. However, this is quite easy to fix. Open the register editor (Run "Run" under the start menu and type "regedit"). Make sure that IronCAD is closed before you preceed. Also notice that changes in the registry can lead to problems. So don't play with it if you don't want any accidents Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IronCAD 8.0\General you have two strings called "DefaultDrawingTemplateSet" and "DefaultSceneTemplateSet". They both have the value "0". Doubleclick on one at a time and change them to the value you want, for example "ISO" as default drawing and "Metric" for the default scene. Or type the names for your own made template folders. Here's a pic of those values in the registry...
  9. Hi Davo. This is a very common problem, not only for IronCAD-files. It can happen to other file types as well. Last week a user told me about the program "Unlocker". With it you can delete/move/rename files that have been locked by some process in Windows. After installation you'll get a new option when RM on files, "Unlocker". I've tested it on some files that I couldn't remove and it did really work! So for all of you out there who's cursing and swearing over locked IronCAD files that you can't delete or move, try this! http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/ unlocker1.7.5.zip
  10. This is quite common after IronPRO has been uninstalled. I think it's some register setting that gets messed up. If the Windows installer appears when you start IronCAD, close it with the Taskmanager. Then put in your IronCAD 8.0 CD. Most often the installer will find the file it's looking for (Ironcad8.msi) and run the repair that it must make. If not, you'll have to look for it by clicking on the browse button. It's placed here: "CD-drive":\Installs\IRONCAD\Ironcad8.msi
  11. Hi Tom. Do you make the surface in Rhino and then use the Rhino-IC integration? We had a user who got this message frequently. But then he started Rhino before he started IronCAD, just to have it running in the background. I think that solved the problem.
