rsaucier Posted May 29, 2014 Share Posted May 29, 2014 I am hoping someone out there has experience working with imported files into IronCad from Rhino. I have a potential customer that would like to use IronCad for the 2D and BOM aspects. I have noticed a few things such as the lengths on the BOM's vary based on the X,Y,Z position rather than the actual length of the parts. Also, there is no linking between imported parts and I do not know if Rhino links and that is lost in translation. jolizon590016 Posted June 2, 2014 Share Posted June 2, 2014 In the earliest version of IronCAD, parts created with IronCAD seems to generate that data. I've discovered lately if it tick box at the size box part properties, it does generate the the right overall dimension. Just don't modify or pull a handle as in the intellishape or add intelligence after you have box the item. I just don't have a file from Rhino right now, but I think the same process should apply. I did it on an inventor file from grabcad recently and was trying to add it this thread but it just won't for some reason.
