Doug Gower
If I have a blind hole (or thread) inside of a pocket what is the standard way to dimension the depth of this hole from the pocket or from the thickness of the material? Example: If a part has one hole size drilled twenty times both in and outside of a pocket all holes drilled at one depth then you could use one depth for all of these but in the pocket that might not be correct if measured from the inside surface of the pocket. In that case you might need to add another dimension. Edited March 25, 2013 by Doug Gower
Doug Gower
I think it should be two different dimensions unless you use a cross-section of the holes with an ordinate dimension but I can't find the answer anywhere.
Cary OConnor
I agree, I think it should be two different holes. Maybe you can ask in a Linked In forum that has many drafters (they would know better) or I can look up the standards if you like. Doug Gower
Well, according to the new Hole Callout tool in IronCAD it is two.
