sbuchanan
Im working on a project where I need some recessed lighting behind a shape to create a glow on the shape its in front of. I have tried adding emmision to the back side of top object, but just cant seem to get the effect i am looking for. I would like to create an object that could act as a sort of "rope light" or "neon' that I could just drop into scenes for this purpose. I want to use it as under cabinet lighting, behind wall mounted monitors and floor lit cabinets. I used to use point lights with ray traced shadows to achieve this but its not consistant across spans. Any ideas? Thank you.
Cary OConnor
The emission should work in this case. Do you have an example of what you need to achieve and a file that has the issue? We can take a look. Cary
tlehnhaeuser
The Emmission should work as Cary stated, sort of. You can set the emission beyond 100%. The only problem that I have not been able to control is there is no way to set a falloff to the emission, so the light basically gets scattered throughout the entire scene. If anyone knows a workaround, I'm all ears ;-) Tom Edited June 27, 2011 by tlehnhaeuser
