tlehnhaeuser
Hello, How do I go about getting the exact MIRROR position for a camera, etc.??? The idea being that I can export a rendering of one side of a structure and then export the mirror rendering of the same structure. This way, for instance, I could place the two images on either side of a center line on a page, or on either side of the binding across two facing pages. I tried reversing the Y values for the camera and look-at positions, but the results were not perfect. Those Up Direction values probably play an important roll? Any feedback is welcomed. tom
Cary OConnor
Hmm... Well could you just create a mirror link of the geometry? This way you would keep all the light setups. Otherwise you would need to mirror the camera and all the lights to try to match the same rendering setup. Otherwise, you would need to do some math tranformations on the camera values to create a mirror camera. Cary

REally cant mirror geometry since right side is differnt form left. Also cannot mirro cameras (BTW please consider as ER). AS for mathematical solutions, I don;t think that would ever provide exact "lineup" besides seems like alot of work to try and figure out. Thanks anyway. Guest EricFoy
My approach (without actually trying it yet): Create a second camera that looks down on the scene, to be looked through while doing the following manipulations... Create a third camera, the final product of the exercise at hand. Set the third camera's parameters all equivalent to those of the first camera. Looking through the second camera, select the third camera, hit F10, hit space bar, manipulate the triball to set up your mirror action. Hit spacebar, execute Mirror | Move. Voila... (I think). Does this work? I'll try it myself later...
Mike Allen
Eric has the right idea - it's easiest to do if you split your screen. TriBall won't copy cameras, but copy/paste does. Copy & paste the desired camera, select the new camera & use the TriBall to rotate it 180º from the center of the target object.
