Ironcad V10 Hotfix 2

Just installed the Hotfix 2 for Ironcad V10 and was wondering if anybody knows what's actually fixed?

 

The annoying drawing browser pop out and "pushing" the drawing to the right has certainly not been fixed, and the browser does NOT remember its setting eg. auto-hide which is the most frustrating thing since quitting the smokes!!!!

Yes those options require a persistence change and registry change. We are planning for those option in the PU1 release. We will have that ability to store the browser open (and hopefully auto-hidden) by default to remove the pop-out. Sorry that it could not be added in the Hotfix.

Good to know whats going on, especially with what is actually fixed and what not considering the problems at hand with V10.

Suggest that any Hotfixes or PU's contains a text file or help doc with "what's new?"

 

What the ability to store the browser open (and hopefully auto-hidden) by default to remove the pop-out concerns, this is really giving us the woopdeedooda's here and looking at the community site, a lot of people seems to think the same. Could you give us an estimate on when the PU1 will be available?

 

We are still discussing here if we should revert back to V9 and stick with it since it worked reasonably well.

Is there any way to get V9 to work with V10 files?

PU1 is scheduled for early Q2

 

v9 cannot open v10 files so the only way to go back is to export your assemblies to ACIS or Parasolid files and import them into v9. The downside to that is you lose feature history and drawings would have to be recreated.

Yeah, - exactly - how would you know that a hotfix is released or where to get it.

I got the tip from the local reseller here in Australia ("good bloke" as they say here downunder) otherwise I would not have known that there was one released either.

Ok,- seems like we are stuck with V10 then, we have already 400+ models/drawings revised or saved in V10 and reverting them all would mean even more waste of time.

Looking VERY much forward to the PU1, - hopefully everything will be sorted out by then - especially the MOST annoying drawing browser pop out NOT remember its setting.
