Rick Dorrington
In the File-Open preview pane, the preview is only filling about 3/4 of the window. Resolution 1600 x 1200. I would try it at different resolution but I don't want to have to tweak the settings again. Is anyone else seeing this?
Guest mwalls
Rick, It only does it for me if I resize the window after I have pointed to a file for preview. If I enlarge the File-Open window and then shut it down, when I reopen it and look at a preview, it fills out fine again. 1600x1200 res. Rick Dorrington
MIke, Doesn't seem to matter here. I don't think that I've ever resized the window. I tried what you suggested but it is still the same. We are on W2KP. What are you using?
Guest mwalls
Rick, I'm using W2KP also. Sorry it's not working for you. Graphics card related?? Good luck in tracking it down!
Chris Lohman
Can you post a screenshot of this innacurate preview pane fill for me?
Guest dlalonde
The simplest most satisfying screen and window capture program... http://members.rogers.com/30297478243/printkey4.zip And freeware.
dsulli
I believe you can simply press the button labeled "Print Screen" and then paste into your program of choice - no download required.
Joel Parrish
Alt + Print Scrn will copy the current selected window. Print Scrn will copy the whole screen. Then open something like Paint or PhotoChop and paste it in there. Save out as jpg, gif, bmp what ever suits your fancy and away you go. Rick Dorrington
Gentlemen, Not trying to ignore this thread. I have a screenshot (Alt-Print Screen-Imaging,New,Jpg,Paste-Save). However, there seems to be some difficulty here wherein any posting under the "6.0 Discussion" does not have an option to "Attach File" in the reply pane. I have been discussing this with Chris and he does see this problem. As for the preview pane they can see the problem in the jpg I sent them but cannot duplicate this at their end. Mysterious. Guest mwalls
Rick, Does it only do this when there is only one file in the directory? If not does it refill if you click on another file? Just thinking out loud! Mike
Rick Dorrington
Mike, It doesn't matter. It's always the same. Rick
Chris Lohman
Our techs figured out how to mess up the preview pane. If you change the value that is circled in red below (Advanced display settings), then it messes not only our preview pane up, but websites and all other sorts of stuff as well. So to fix it, leave it at the "normal size" default. preview_pane.gif
Rick Dorrington
Windows. Arrrgh!!! How stupid. Good find. You guys pass the test. On W2K we have a slightly different selection - Small Fonts/Large Fonts Of course we were set to large fonts- the eyes can't take the punishment otherwise. Back to large fonts and small previews for me. At least we know why it behaves this way now.
Andrew Owens
FYI: This Windows font thing has been an issue with Windows applications since Win95. Microsoft expects the application makers to test their applications to work with all screen fonts. Changing the Windows default screen font can have a multitude of undesirable side effects on apps. If I win the lottery, I'll call Microsoft and ask them to fix it. Andy
