Using a Parameter to Drive the Spin Angle of a Shape

Here’s a quick and easy example of how to use parameters to set a shape’s spin angle:

  • Right-click your Spin shape in the IntelliShape mode
  • Select Parameters
  • Click Add Param
  • Use the following values:

    Parameter Type: User Defined

    Parameter Name: SA

    Parameter Value: 120

    Value Type:  Angle

  • Click OK to create the parameter and OK to close the Parameter Table
  • Right-click your Spin shape in the IntelliShape mode
  • Select IntelliShape Properties
  • Select the Spin Tab
  • Click Show Formulas
  • Enter the parameter name “SA” in the Spin Angle field
  • Click OK
  • Right-click the background and select Parameters

Now to can drive the Spin Angle by the parameter and relate it to other parameters by using an expression.

The Video attached will demonstrate a simple example of this process.
