2d Shape Handles?

When I turn on the Shape Sizebox Handle on a 2D shape (first time i needed this) The normal Round Red handles do not show up to my surprise, I get the red box corner handles.

 

BUT

 

Surprisingly enough if I move my cursor over the midpoint of a curve the Hand with "L" icon pops up and this acts like the missing round red handle. I.E. I grab this invisble handle and hit CRTL key and select the other side invisble handle it works perfect.

 

So is this normal, a bug, or poor video card?

First time i needed this approach.

OK, leaning to Bug.

 

When I try to Loft the 2D shapes it will not select the Shape where I turned on Shape Sizebox handles sort of. When I try the Loft gets wacked out.

OK, here we go.

Lofts fine, its just that when I have shape handles on when I select 2d Shape it doesn't highlight. Thee only indication that its selected is that the blue constraints are visible very faintly.

Looks like the 2D Shape was only designed to be used with Shape handles, not Sizebox handles. I don't see any value in using the Sizebox handles for 2D Shapes so we should probably consider this a bug and disable Sizebox handles for 2D Shapes.

Hold your horses!!! Don't touch anything.

 

First let me clarify all along I have been referring to Shape Handles I meant Sizebox Handles and right now I found something new that I will start using more and can see great usegar here.

 

The only thing that needs fixing is:

1) highlight works

2) show the Red Round Handles.

 

thats it, everything works even smartsnap

Highlighting and handles are showing for me (and most I would suspect). Perhaps this is a graphics card issue. Try upgrading your graphics driver. Also, try Software rendering under Tools, Options, Rendering.

I agree with Tom.

 

Do not take this functionality away, I didn't know about it until now but I can see it is great for quick scaling of 2d shapes, I have been looking for something like this.

 

But I don't see the handles either.

Mike, really its because I haven;t taken a vacation since 1998.

When I finally take one, I'll let you know and maybe you can gain some ground on me
