Juriaan Vis
Hi, fellows - I'm using the IC now for a few months and feel still OK ! One thing I do not understand clearly is communicating with other engineering software... wich file type is the most satisfing (best result for editing) communicating with Mechanical Desktop 4 or Solid Edge ? Can you provide me from experience information. What I determind is that dimensions smaller than 1 [um] are round off to 1 [um] - is this correct I found out and what can I do about this to get smaller dimensions (up to 10 [nm]). Cheers, Juriaan @ AO NL
Chris Lohman
I was hoping we might receive some insight from other users but I'll let you know what we've heard. Since we don't have other CAD programs in house it's difficult to come up with exact suggestions. Solid Edge = Parasolid .x_t Mechanical Desktop = Acis .sat I have also seen that in some instances even when using that kernel the transfer might not quite work. In these cases often someone is trying to export a part that is using the parasolid kernel into an acis format. Sometimes it helps to go into the part properties of the part and change it's kernel to whatever you're exporting.
