wfincher
Has any one used IronCAD to work with the FARO Arm? I am trying to work with IGES and SAT files created using the FARO Arm. I'm able to import surfaces using bot IGES and SAT but point don't show up. Wnen I import the same IGES files int ProE the point show up. Anyone have any ideas about this? Chris Lohman
When you say point are you referring to a point cloud? If so, IronCAD won't import a point cloud because it has no edge or surface geometry. It doesn't know how to stitch it together. Maybe we could have a "connect the dots" plugin for IronCAD. Guest Scott Wallis
It would be nice to be able to do this in IC, but for now Rhino should do what you need. You can download the fully funtional(25 saves) evaluation version at http://www.rhino3d.com/. You can create a surface from the point cloud and export as a Parasolid or Acis. Or I suppose if it is a simple shape you could make an IGES wireframe and import it to IronCAD, since it has that capability now. Rhino is a great low-cost surface modeler, but it will sure remind you why we like IC so much. (What, no TriBall?!!)
