tlehnhaeuser
Sometimes getting glass to look right can invlove some hi-end rendering tricks to get it just right. So if you want to get it quicker heres a tip. Simply apply a white decal (preferably bmp image) onto a part and make make the decal settings to "Cut-Away" white pixels. Then render. This works very well. Also, you may increase the EMISSION on this part to get better results. Attached is an image where this technique was used to generate a snow globe. We simply used MSPaint to create a simply image (white background with Gray spots) and mapped it onto a Surface shape (dome). Feel free to try and you may be able to find even more tricks to this tool. Enjoy Tom
Guest John Wright
Tom Thanks for the tip - I frequently use glass in some of our proposals. I tend to put a good reflection image on and move the glass to a colour that isn't 'bright' the attached image shows what I get Hey IC how about a mechanism to conrol the reflected image - please?!?
