Chris Lohman
All that I see in it is an "Ad River" banner; no animation.
Mike Allen
It apparently takes a while to load. Pretty cool!
Corey Cooper
I've seen that before, very cool. Apparently its made with parts from a Honda. Here's another link http://www.daboyz.org/honda/
cborer
Very nice! But the idea seems to be stolen from the swiss artists Fischli & Weiss. They made exactly the same with trash, Fire , water ...aso. They became very famous in the art scene for that some years ago. Here is one link on movies of them: http://www.tcfilm.ch/lauf_txt_d.htm Fischi & Weiss ...on google are many links to them Carlo
don_temple
The art form is called a "Rube Goldberg Machine" to honor the cartoonist Rube Goldberg who used to draw overly complex machines to achieve simple tasks. Here's a quick link that will explain more: http://www.rube-goldberg.com/ The high points of this Honda ad: These are all real parts from a prototype of a new Honda model No CGI was used, that sequence of operations really happened It took many months of trial and error to make it work It took something like 16 hours to setup between takes, they kept doing it until the whole "machine" worked. Why would anybody know this? The Academy of Applied Science http://www.aas-world.org/ sponsors a Young Inventors Program and one event the kids can enter is a Rube Goldberg competition. Here are some photos: http://www.aas-world.org/youth_science/yip.html My wife is the resident patent attorney on the board of directors and I judge the competition, the most innovative kids receive awards and recognition. If you think your kids or community would benefit from a little creative thinking please contact the program coordinator Pamela Hampton at mailto:phampton@aas-world.org Product & injection mold design. www.QuickCAD.biz
