PatrickB
Hi IronCAD-Community, I am trying to add patterns in 2D for certain objects when creating a Standard View from an IronCAD Scene in Caxa Draft - with no success so far. What I did: Click on Standard View in Caxa Draft Click on Options Select the respective part in "Hatch Settings" Select a pattern (I tried various types) Type in Scale, Angle and Spacing (tried different options, scale 1-100, Angle 90-135, Spacing 1-10) Click on Apply Click on OK to create the Standard View The View is then created, but without any pattern. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you and best regards, Patrick
IronKevin
Sounds reasonable, can you post or send us the files to investigate (please send 3D and 2D files) (you can email to support@ironcad.com if you don't want to post your files here)
PatrickB
Thank you for the quick reply! I added the 3D scene and the corresponding 2D Caxa draft. I tried to add patterns on the "Pillar_Center", but they do not appear. Test_Pillar.exb Test_Pillar.ics
IronKevin
You have to create a Section View to get a Hatch pattern on the parts, try a Hatch scale of 10 or so.
Malcolm Crowe
Hi Patrick, Kevin is correct in saying that the Hatching automatically created as part of a Generated View requires that View to be a Sectioned View. However, it is possible to manually add Hatching inside a Generated View afterwards. This capability is very useful. For example, attached is an image where different Hatch Patterns have been applied within a Generated View to differentiate between different wall constructions. CAXA DRAFT is a DWG Editor, and the Generated Views are "Blocks" that can be edited in "Block Editing Mode". Attached is a video in which I add a "Dots" Hatch Pattern to the Slab and then a regular "Diagonal" Hatch Pattern to the Posts. Hopefully that gives you some idea of what is possible.
