pkx
Hello, IC2022 I want to insert some image to 3D environment in exact scale. Exactly - I have photo like that: (this photo is only for explanation) I have photo and some dimension ON this photo. The only way I know is to: create some surface with scale ratio same as in my photo, create decal on this surface with my photo, in some way check dimension (measurement, sketch on it), calculate new size of whole image and scale my object. Is there any easier/better/faster way to achieve this? Or maybe there is other, correct way?
Cary OConnor
You can use the Insert Object command. The image needs to be at 96 DPI and then it will use the correct image size. See the image size below and watch the video for an example. InsertObject.avi
pkx
It's still unusable with photos, even with one on the first post. I have found what I need - function "Calibrate" in Fusion 360: https://youtu.be/iaUMYRP3CxA?t=240 Maybe IC will get similiar option in next version? Cary OConnor
You are correct we don't have a calibration tool. However, you can do a similar process. Basically import the image. Use the Image tool to measure the distance on the image. Use that value to calculate the scale (Actual/Measured). Then multiple the sizebox by that factor. Example in the video. So what we are missing is the automatic calculation and apply the factor to the sizebox in a single tool. MeasureTool.avi
pkx
I know this way but I thought about something more user-friendly (I use it quite often). Maybe some kind of "size calibration" would appear in next release?
