Marcelina
Hello Yall, I am using imported sketchup model of stair to create metal railing. I finished the model and now I wanted to prepare layouts. The skechup imported model is visible on plan and elevations (Standard Views) but not on sections or details. Is there a way to show imported shapes on these drawings? Thank you.
Cary OConnor
Hi, Models from Sketchup are graphical or facet models (not solid real modelling data). These will show up in our graphical drawing views (DRAFT/Quick) but will not show in Precise or Section views. You can attempt to convert these to solids in the 3D Environment. We suggest to set your modelling kernel to ACIS and then right-click on the parts and select convert to solid (it may work ok for some geometry but not all as it will create facetted geometry). Once it is a solid, you can use the section tool in the 3D. Another option is to create a 3D graphical section and to create a configuration of that view. Then use that configuration in a drawing view layout. Cary
