jolizon590016
This was an on-off project. I used the Sheet Metal Create Loft to create this 34mm thk. panel (1.6mm fiberglass skin top and bottom with XPS core 30.8mm). In actual prototype, the panel came short 45mm from the bottom and 22mm short in front from the bottom of the 2D profile. I asked the customer to check their invoice the length that should be 9888.803mm. While I am trying to get a grip on this, I created wiring channel/trench using the H Block (Cut Extrude) across the with on the material thickness on the model and also tried embedding it on bottom of the panel just trying to get the silhouette to shown when it is unfolded. Knowing it may not work but there may be a work around I may not be aware of, so please advise if there is a way, appreciate it. Josh
Hi Joseph, I think the lost material in the real world prototype might be caused by the k-factor. Made you a video below: 2021-05-02 15-45-03.mp4
jolizon590016
Hi Josh, Thanks for your insight. . Thee fiberglass and XPS foam compress rather elongate on the inner radius and not stretching out the outer skin.
Josh
Makes sense, pretty sure that should be a K factor of 1 then if there's no elongation.
