tlehnhaeuser
Does anyone know of a software that can fill a odd shaped vessel with parts? In other words, I have an odd shape PART and an odd shape CAN. I want to know how many PARTS will fit into the CAN. I assume physics are invloved. Any feedback is helpful thanks Tom
jolizon590016
I don't know if this helps, usually set the mass density water to the solid and you get the approximate volume. Subtract the shell volume of the container and that leaves you to allow the air space needed.
tlehnhaeuser
Hi Joe, Actually what I'm looking for as an example: I have a jar in the shape of a heart, and I have cat shaped mints I want to put in the jar. I need a software that will ell me how many mints fit in that jar and ideally place them in the jar as well. Tx T
jolizon590016
That will be a challenge for irregular shapes. Apologies for wrong solution.

Jonas@Solidmakarna
There's a really cool Swedish software that I think could solve that! Algoryx https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvI0viLsn3luKwIi4OiHc4A

bmckelvie
If you want a free solution, blender, has similar physics capabilities, I don't know if it can tell you optimal fill but it can fill a container with any shaped object

I guess I was looking for something a little easier. Thanks though. These physics programs are just amazing what they can do.
