Well I feel silly. I've used boolean before in other apps. I don't know what I was thinking. I guess getting the hang of different software makes it more hard to notice the similarities. Thank you to both of you guys for your help!

I didn't mention that I created the shape of this part by combining a larger outside ring feature shape with a smaller inside "remove material" feature shape. So this part is really a combination of 1 add material and 1 remove material shapes. If I change that other part to "remove material" then both of the features are now remove, so nothing is shown and the part no longer has a shape. Maybe there is no way to have a custom Part like this that removes material? I guess I could make a new part with "remove material" only with a sketch?

I created a custom part that I will be using on several different parts. But I'd like this custom part to be used as a "remove material" instead of adding to one. How is this possible? So I'm hoping that I can drag in my "remove material part" from the catalog on the right hand side, just like I can drag a "cut torus" out from it.

I had read that somewhere but didn't understand it for some reason. But I understood your reply quite clearly. Thank you so much for your quick and descriptive response! I was able to get it copied into the new sketch. Again, appreciated

I've gone through the 1 day beginner tutorial course and have been making some of my own parts as I am testing this app. But I'd like to know how to make a copy of a sketch or pull out a sketch that was consumed by an extrude feature. If I delete the extrude, the sketch also deletes. And there doesn't seem to be any way for me to copy the sketch or otherwise separate it from that extrude. How to I recover my sketch? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
