  1. Hello Bjorn, In IC2022, it has a structured BOM Option fixes the problem by being able to turn off lower layers for the General Assembly but leaving the lower items as parts for the individual drawings. You can't sort the BOM afterwards so make sure its in the correct order before creating the BOM. Here is my original issue with the new structured BOM in IC2022.
  2. Thanks for the reply Malcolm. I ended up doing a very similar thing and used with 2D icd drawing. I saved the level 2 assembly to a separate linked out file then i could use the Top Level list option in the BOM. Not ideal saving out extra files just do for a BOM.
  3. Thanks for the reply Mike. I too usually use the steps you have laid out for lightweight sheetmetal design of conveyors. Its very convenient. For this particular application i have got, I just want to call up the top assembly weldment for a contractor to reference with an item bubble. And i don't want to show up every piece of flat bar or Angle Iron or PFC on this particular BOM. But I don't want to save out all the individual assemblies just to get this one drawing for the fabrication contractor.
  4. I have a single IRONCAD file with multiple internal assemblies. I am trying to avoid saving these assemblies out to external files. I am trying to use a "Top Level List" BOM style but its 3 levels down in the hierarchy tree. I don't want the BOM to drill down to the 4th level into the individual elements of each steel weldment. Is there any way of doing this ? I the only have I have found is to use a "Intented List" BOM style and manually delete out the lines I don't want. But when you update the sheet, it updates the table again.
  5. Good news so it should work in the next Ironcad release ! The last version BETA 4 of Ironcad 2021 download link is no longer working (from email on 11th November) ? I tried to download it to test on a larger Solidworks Assembly
  6. I just emailed the files. 15MB zipped file.
  7. Hello Cary, See attached file after import into Ironcad from the Solidworks part files. 029136004-TF-G M1250 L 700 POLEA D70.ics
  8. I am importing assembly files files received from a client using Solidworks 2019. The individual part files are imported at the original part length and not the length used in the assembly drawing. Is there a way around this or can I put in a enhancement request to have the converter modified to bring in the current configuration length of the parts ? Or if importing a individual part, choose from one of the pre-saved solidworks configurations for the correct length.
  9. I have been mirroring parts using the PartName field as the part number so I can keep the linked attribute connected but need to identify the part individually for CNC coding purposes. Not every mirrored item does it, but I get random extra line item in the BOM list. Eg Part No 110-07 has quantity of 4 and its mirror part 110-08 has also quantity of 4. But the BOM breaks it into 110-07 x 3, 110-08 x 4 and 110-08 x 1. There is 2 different assemblies that use these 2 mirrored parts and 2 copies of each assembly.
