  1. I believe it's 30° x 30° x 30° Alex.
  2. Do you have a section tool active anywhere in the scene? Its plane can be very large, and is treated as a part by the IC, so it tries to fit something many times the size of your assembly into the view. Alex.
  3. It looks like the section tool doesn't really "section" the part unless you specify "precise mode". Consequently, when you click on the sectioned cylinder part, even though it's invisible, it points to the curved surface, so it aligns it to that surface, not the plane of the section tool. Hope I make sense here (it's still Monday morning) Alex
  4. An update: I successfully installed IC6 (finally!!!). What we had to do to get out of the IC calling on the Office Installer was deleting my Win2000 profile, of all things. After I created a brand new profile, IronCAD called Installer once, and was it. Everything is working fine now. Alex.
  5. How about representing a thread by drawing a few parallel lines in the "Edit View" mode? With features like offset and/or right-click move/copy I find it easier than it sounds. Alex.
  6. Yes, I think that's the way it works - and it shouldn't. Alex.
  7. I had this problem to the point where I'm unable to use IC6.0 and had to revert to 5.2. None of the above suggestions helped. Alex
  8. I use it in a "crowded" drawing to gain a few more square inches of space when needed. Works fine for me. Alex.
  9. I had a similar problem with a SolidWorks user awhile ago. I was able to resolve it, I believe, by using a lower level Parasolid (10.0 or some such) for the export. At the time we concluded it was SW's problem, possibly a bug - not IC's. Alex.
  10. C'mon, Iron People - what's up with this particular topic? You are so responsive in general, to see no comment from you here is almost eerie. Or are you planning a surprize ? Alex.
  11. I use Mozilla 1.21 browser, and I could not read the announcement in it - the box appeared blank. Alex.
  12. I sometimes create custom-tailored "blends" - Hole Shapes that do a particular blending task when a real blending operation fails consistently. Alex.
  13. Dave, do you know if having 16 bit color vs. 32 bit color makes any difference in speed? thanks, Alex.
  14. I have a dual processor machine. Useful when you run several apps - I assign IC to the second processor, and everything else (e-mail, excel, etc.) to the first one. Marginal improvement, not worth paying for (I was given this machine at work, being the best one here it just happened to have 2 processors). Best, Alex.
  15. Oh-oh... According to my screen I posted at 3:02, and you did at 2:49, so my browser says we both are here sharing a meridian or something close to that . Alex.
  16. Rick, Check your profile - see what time zone is specified there - you might be surprized. I just found out I live somewhere between Sakhalin and Sumatra! Alex. Oh, you said your profile IS correct - I was so much in a hurry to get back to the US I didn't even notice. A.
  17. Chris, I was modifying my post while you posted yours . Thanks for the info, anyway - I didn't realise it was same NVDIA chip. Alex.
  18. Chris, I have ELSA Gladiac 64 card, and I have the same problem with triball; it also was disappearing entirely sometimes, and would only show up when I used middle mouse button to rotate. Alex
  19. I think it's important for IC to keep supporting dual kernel operation - switching kernels is one of the most useful troubleshooting tools IC has (at least it worked for me many times). Alex
  20. I find the arrows on Ø dim. to be inconsistent - they would sometimes wind up "inside" for small circles, and "outside" for large ones - exactly the opposite from what one would expect. Alex
  21. I'm in Milford, NH - Earthworks, Inc. Use Toshiba M500D with 2 Pentium III's, 750Meg RAM, 64Meg ELSA Gladiac-64 video; run Win2000 SP3. This thing is at least 2 years old, but works for me - I don't have enormous scenes. Very reliable machine. Yours, Alex.
