  1. That last video with the wireframe was very interesting. I always use edges on my parts when modeling. I wonder how Ironcad handles this. Most of the other pro vs gaming GPU tests i have seen do not use edges in their tests.
  2. Wow, that was informative. Do you know if Solidworks uses opengl or Directx? Always heard that Quadro rocks on opengl.
  3. Thank you for your advice Spencer. Does anybody know how many cores is supported in IC? Not for picture rendering ( I use Keyshot, gpu rendering), but in the IC scene.?
  4. So, it is time replace my 7 year old workstation. I have been using IC for about 10 years, but I still dont know what hardware that would work best for my work. I often work with scenes with 5000-10,000 parts, always with part edges on and smooth shading. Often with some transparent parts in the scene. I also do alot of layout drawings in ICD, often in shaded mode with lots of parts. I have heard that with directx, there is no gain to go the pro gpu (quadro) route? Is this true for the ICD environment too? I also read somewhere on this forum that the part edges are not rendered in the gpu, but in the cpu? Will the xeon give any advantages over an i7 in Ironcad for my work? So where should I put down the money. Gpu or cpu? Gaming or pro workstation? Will be upgrading to IC2020 when released. Regards Petter
  5. See image. I think the intellishape input field should look like the sketch input field. The grey background could be even more transparent. Just my opinion....
  6. Personally i love the new look, especially on the triball an the new sketch look. I hope that the next update will include some updates to the intellishape input fields. They look oldfasion and the white background is to big. It is hard to see the geometry under the input field. Make it more transparent like the sketch input fields. The same goes to the input fields for the triball.
  7. Yes, you can also use the individual face thickness in the shell feature to have different thickness on all four sides.
  8. Do you need it to be a H Block? If not you can just edit the sketch in the block intellishape, add an offset sketch that you constrain with the proper distance. If you need it to be H block you can edit the sketch in the h block, use the project constrain feature and project the geometry from the block intellishape, offset the constrained sketch with proper distance and put "use as construction" on the projected lines.
  9. I have never seen this function before, I can not find it in my Ironpro?
