  1. Very Nice work Malcolm, I see why you won the contest :-)
  2. Hi Guys, What I did was create a copy of the cylinder and directed to the other body. That worked. Thank you Tom
  3. Thanks Guys, great help! As for the cylinder affecting a body, can I have the one cylinder affect multiple bodies or need to have a cylinder for each body? Tx t ps: crash course :-)
  4. I'll just keep this SPM topic going :-) Now I'm not sure why the last feature I add is not affecting previous features. Sorry, its a whole new world in SPM :-) t HandRail2.ics
  5. Oh Ok Spencer, I am just using an image as a reflection on the part. T
  6. Cary, something to chew and and practice, thanks for the guidance. Spencer if you mean the chrome finish? its just a texture I have made. If you want it you can get it here for free. https://magnacad.com/shop/mag-texs/ Cheers Tom
  7. wheeew! Ok thought I'm loosing my marbles.Tx Cary. While on the subject, I have been blessed with Innovative mode for so long and now trying to understand structured mode is proving a bit tricky. Maybe some ex-SolidWorks users can chime in here. I am trying to understand the difference between Bodies and Features and very confusing. And when I drag a cylinder for example its if I want to make it a body or not, whats the benefits? Sorry for the ignorance. t
  8. Feel stupid for asking but how do I link a feature in a structured part? T HandRail.ics
  9. Hello Gary, I know IC stopped support on XP at V11. So at 4.2 thats a tough one. The only thing I can think of besides upgrading is dedicating a XP machine for that sole purpose. https://www.ironcad.com/system-requirements/ My2cents. Tom
  10. Nice Job Harley! I like the way you make the SM parts, very savvy. T
  11. I have multiple APs in the same location on a part, but cant figure out to to get to the one on the bottom. any ideas? t
  12. Hi Harley, I just did a sweep ( not to any scale) using your profile. Would this work for you? Tom Lobster trial_Tom.ics
  13. I agree with Spencer. You can do it in IronCAD using advanced surfacing however I would only do this is you plan on using the model on a constant basis. Then it may be worth it to put the time needed in. NURBS modelers like Blender are more suited for this type of modeling or Clay modelers such as Scluptris if you have an artistic ability to sculpt. Both I use on occasion in conjunction to bring into IRONCAD to finalize overall design.

  15. Hi Orlik I think you may be referring to Design Variations which is basically one part that can have unlimited variations of it. This uses parameters to setup which can be used in sheet metal as well. Below is quick video of a design variation part. tom
  16. I-Dudes! Not sure how to use this option, any ideas? Tx Tom Load CG.ics
  17. That is great work Malcolm! I gotta take some time and digest your videos for some ideas I have. tom I was going to say link a torus shape along a 3D curve, sweep the "solid" portion, then shell.
  18. Hello GO, just turn on your Sizebox Dimensions. see below Tom
  19. Its an IronCAD catalog, just open it like you would any other catalog. Cheers T
  20. LOL! This is a typical scenerio we hear from users switching from SWX or Inventor. The problem is to learn IronCAD you must ignore what you have been pre-programmed to do in SWX etc.. Unfortunately, IronCAD is the best and easiest way to design HOWEVER it's difficult for existing users, we have to detune often our customers of all the cumbersome and counter-productive approach that has been forced on you in other programs. But have faith becuase once the "lightbulb" goes on (like with many of my customers) they NEVER want to go back to the old way of doing things again . Trust me, if you stick it out and persist, the world will be your oyster! Tom
  21. Here is your teardrop shape along with our full MagSHAPES catalog. My gift to Everyone for XMAS! Tom https://magnacad.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/MagSHAPES_2020.zip
  22. Thanks Guys! I use ScreetoGif which I really love and keeps "videos" small and easy to view. Has image editing that I dont really use much. Its free! https://www.screentogif.com/
