  1. Have anyone experienced this problem. I create quite a few elliptical parts, and in order for our cam software to be able to use them, I need to go in and change the surface deviation to as smooth as possible (.001) was the finest I could go in 5.0, now the finest I can go is .0015, any more and it chokes and gives this error message. what happens at a lower resolution, is the ellipse becomes a series of straight lines, instead of a smooth arc. the file is usable, but just means more work for the machine shop to go in and smooth it out.
  2. If I understand the behavior hes getting correctly, its like the part needs to catches up to the camera rotation. I experience that behavior if I have the overlay plane turned on under the rendering options menu. I'm using a FireGL2. When I shut it off, the problem disappers. Hope this is helpful
  3. I just e-mailed an exception error I just got, along with my system and display summary.
  4. The reason I asked is IronCad crashed when I was closing a scene and it told me a log file was being generated, but it didnt tell me where.
  5. I agree with Chris. Trackball mouse is the way to go, to minimize hand movements. I use one both at work and home, and it really helped me.
  6. I ran a Tool/Statistics on the one part(part 8) and I get a response back, that there were no problems detected. Here is the text file generated
  7. This is the error message I get when trying to save a part. I copied the part from a scene, opened a new scene and pasted it in, and when I go to save it, I get this first message After clicking ok, this is the second message I get. I've rebooted after getting the errors, and I still get them. If I delete all other parts from the scene and do a save as it will save it alright. Am I doing something wrong?
  8. I've never used or know of anyone who has used a Spacemouse. Although i've seen them (a bit pricey, i think) But I use a Microsoft Trackball Explorer and it works great for me. You can customize all five buttons and make the buttons application specific and it is really easy to use and it eliminates the repetitive movement that you get with a mouse. Heres how I've get it set up.
  9. I agree, i realized after Cary's response that I was putting the values in the wrong places. lol
  10. Ok, copied the .dll, reregistered it, restarted the computer, and I still get the same results. The first screenshot (1st) is what I want, i click ok, right-click, while the hole is still highlighted, just to check, go to addon properties and (2nd) is what I see. If you need any more info let me know.
  11. No, I went by your post about how to do a clean install, so I don't think there was any thing left over. This was also a problem in 4.2. I'll try to reregister that .dll and let you know.
  12. If you add a limit tolerance to a hole (ie: 1.2505/1.2515) why does IC automatically subtract the lower limit (ie: 1.2505/1.2485). I used to be able to get around it (in 4.2) by adding a plus sign to the lower limit, thereby forcing it to add the lower tolerance. Now i try to and it seems to do nothing, what happened? Does anyone know of a way around this.
  13. Has anyone else experienced this. You drop a custom hole onto a part, the add-on properties menu pops up, you enter your data for the hole you want, hit enter, and if you right-click the custom hole, go to add-on properties again, there are changes to the values, with me its usaully the tap depth or drill depth.
  14. I have the same problem w/it leaving the previous image. I run IC4.2SP1 on a Dell Precision 330 workstation w/fire GL2 graphics card (64 megs). If I turn the overlay plane on, thats when I have problems. So I turn the overlay plae off and use automatic and things work just fine. Does anyone know what the overlay plane does anyway?
