  5. just want to say this topic has gone a little astray from my first request. I was looking to import into the drawing but good ideas for inporting into a scene.
  6. how is this coming along. Still using 11 too many wonky things in 12 till we get the update. Thanks B-
  7. ok I attached a 2-d shape to my original part and made an assembly and it works great now the one problem I have is all my smart snaps went away because they were on the original part and now it is an assembly. Do I now need to transfer all those smart snaps at the assembly level? thanks B-
  8. I think I have seen it for like 500 for a licence. The IronPRO guys are on this board a lot so I am sure they will chime in for a price and info.
  9. so what do I tell our 30 dealers that want to upgrade? Dont because things might be fixed sometime in the next 3 months.... what about the supressed items what about the back up files, I am sorry that I am going off here but this is kind of the standard thing that goes on here every new version of IC. Put out a new release that probably should have not come out and then have to wait for a pu1 to actually start using the program......
  10. Happy new year to all. I was wondering when a hot fix will be available. It is the new year and the only thing stopping us from truly upgrading is a couple of minor things to be fixed with IC. Main items are the custom bom's and the fact that settings are not sticking. See bug reports for more detailed explanations. Thanks and happy new year

  12. how much is IronPRO xt and do they offer a network license
  13. it shows up on the first part but if I copy that part for some reason the 2d shape does not add correctly. this would be a great solution if the part info on the 2d shape calculated the number correctly
  14. ok I have a problem and wondering if the community has a solution for me. We have a product line called truss that you can connect 1 stick to another stick of this product. To connect these two pieces there are connectors. To save time we do not draw these connectors and since they are inside of the stick they are never seen. Ok so my problem is, is there a way to attach a secondary part info to a part so I can compute the connectors that go along with each stick of truss? I tried attaching a 2d shape and giving it my part info for the connector and it does not compute right on the BOM Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks B-
  15. that makes sense then, I think Jan quoted our guy 3,000 for the floating. I was just looking into it so I didnt have to make the one guy that has it on his machine do all my work but I think we will just stick with that for now. Thanks Cary
  16. why is this program so expensive. Is it a ptc thing or is it an ironcad thing? Just wondering was going to try and get another copy for our company but just a little steep for what we would use it for. B-
  17. I guess that answers my question
  18. do you think the project would be a large cost or a partnership. I just dont see my company spending money right now. Benefit huge to us but dont see them doing it but I can pitch it to them
  19. I would need it to be a separate line on the bom. My question is with the 2d shape would it have to be an assembly then or how does it deal with the extra part info?
  20. My work is trying to get the most out of our bom info but it is not complete enough. My question is..... we have a part that includes connectors, the part and connectors have 2 seperate part numbers. We draw the main part and do not draw the connectors because they are always hidden. Is there a way to attach info to a part (the main part) to include a line for the connectors? I hope this makes sense if not I will try and explain better. Thanks for the help Brian
  21. try switching your rendering mode to software before you open your file. This sometimes will allow you to at least get it open. B-
