  1. I got the thread feature in both V11 and 2009 to do threads on a tapered hole yesterday. You just need to make sure the little triangle you create is the correct size. My threads cam out too deep at first but I went back and edited the triangle and the pitch and the threads looked great. I even did a cutaway and they looked great. It has taken me a while, and couple times watching that little video, but I am getting the hang of the thread feature. I will not be using it for every threaded hole or rod but will probely use it where the thread is exposed in a closeup view for assembly instructions. Dallas
  2. Cary Do you think running V11 install repair will fix this. It is still not working? If I run repair then do I still need to rerun the PU1 HF1? Dallas
  3. never checked which format bata 3 was. continuing problems wit Add-on-properties. Creating parts today (all new) and my tools/ custom holes quit working. I am attaching some pics of the some error messages. It was working Fine then after saving a couple custom holes it quit working. TP1.jpg comes up when I drop a hole on part TP_continue.jpg is what happens when I tell it to continue TP_continue_2.jpg is after I try and add any information. I restarted IC, no good, Tried in new scene new block, tried to had hole, no good. Restarted computer, no good. Dallas
  4. Cary I had Bata 1 on and was checking thins out, It did effect V11 some. It did things like destroy my file of saved Custom Holes form the Add-on-properties menu. There were other small deferences in V11 but could not be sure that it had anything to do with bata 1 running or not so did not say anything. I downloaded Bata 2 twice and could not get it to run. "No license". I decided to stop participating in the bata testing because I do not have the time it takes to download un-compress and then it not work. The big problem is the compression method ".rar." the only thing program I could find is a pain in the ass to use because it keeps trying to add stuff and change me to Yahoo. So I just stopped. I like participating in the bata but the aggravation of getting it up and running takes me away for production. I will just have to wait till the finished version comes out and hope that enough other people have the "stick-to-it" to find all the flaws. If it were easier to download and uncompress and it ran without a fight I would be happy to see if I could find things to make things work better. I have been a fan of this software since it came in a box from circuit city for $259.00 and was called tri-spectives 3D. Dallas
  5. I do not know if it make a difference but I looked back and some of the parts that I have had this problem with were created originally in V10 and early V11. Could this make a difference. Dallas
  6. It makes no difference if run as administrator. (Vista64,V11,PU1,HF1 all installed) I opening the same file on My laptop (V11 XP,32,PU1,HF1 installed) and it worked OK It was slow to open the dialog box the firs time but it worked fast the second and third time I tried to add properties. Dallas
  7. I tried to get the file that caused the problem to do it again and could not. The file die it to me several times in past but not now. It is a large file so I did not attach it. I do have another problem with the parts in that file. When I highlight a threaded hole, right click and select "add-on-properties..." the pop up for holes does not come up. I am attaching one of the parts. I have the same problem with several parts in that same sene. I attached one of the simple parts, I can not get to the properties on any of the holes, thru w/counter bore or the threaded holes. Dallas
  8. Not out of place when open. But I have hidden assemblies and then when I "SHOW ALL" a large assembly was flipped over and out of location. I close file (Not save) and then when I reopen the file the parts are in correct location. Dallas
  9. Eric Yours makes mine look like the trophy they give the other players for just coming to play "T" ball. Nice job. I had same problem trying to attach a .jpg file. Dallas
  10. Eric Trust me you are not alone. I have had to develope a whole new book of work arounds for this. I would expect more bitching but I think Kevin and all there know about most of the issues. I have a problem sometimes but not other times. I have gotten to where I disconnect some geometry end points before I move them. So all other arcs/lines don't get dragged. I create a new arc, delete the old one and then retrim the new arc when they wont extend. I am being patient hoping for a big fix of this geometry issue. I hope they fix it soon. Come on IronGuys get this stuff working we are depending on you. Dallas
  11. Carlo You would have liked these pieces thay were about 30-50 Feet long and about 3-4Feet wide and looked like the rollor coster from hell. Dallas
  12. Carlo The one on the left looks like an Abstract Elephant. Some of your art (like on left) reminds me of when I was with GE and we were doing a job at an Aluminum plant in West Virginia and they had simular free forms laying in the scrap yard waiting to be cut up and recycled. They were the result of a stoppage in the process when the material being rolled out got jammed and the material did not stop in time and bunched up behind the process rollers. I have always liked you work and have visited your web site many times over the years. thanks for sharing it on this site. Dallas
  13. Already have option to have or not in part/assembly properties in scene, it include or exclude from BOM. Are you wanting to do it at later time when producing the drawing in stead of doing it while in scene mode?
  14. this is what Kevin sent me when I updated to Vista /64 computer. this install worked fine , so far, for me. Heres the installer for Vista 64 (it includes PU1): IronCAD 11PU1 64-bit Vista Download: http://download.ironcad.com/download/IRONC...NCAD64Vista.exe You will need Administrator rights to install it, plus when licensing youll need to right-click the License Activation Wizard button and select Run As Administrator. You should also run IronCAD as Administrator once to make sure everything is registered. Like I said so far the install has gone OK. There are still some flakey things but I had some of the same flakey things in XP with V11. Dallas
  15. Cary Where is learning Center? Dallas
  16. When I go to tools/options/rendering I have no selection avail. on my main computer) They are all grayed out except for a bos with two options. OpenGL and DirectX. have I got something else set wrong? My Video driver is set to "let application pick" Dallas
  17. Even with any changes (can't see any) that may have been done with PU1 (32bit) I see no improvements with the 2d edit. Why is is so slow to respond. Especially when I use my laptop. I thing an old AT or XT IBM was faster. What am I doing wrong? It takes like 30 seconds for it to highlight a line when I select it. Dallas
  18. I have issues with the 2d edit commands as well. The input parameters window is not friendly sometimes you can highlight and edit sometimes the data that was there needs to be deleted first. Plus the window is too small. Just not friendly. Dallas
  19. Carlo I have been over the years checking your website and have shared it with others, very nice work. How much of it do you actually design in IronCad? Have you Werk in Stuttgart Germany? When I was over there I saw a couple pieces that looked like they might be you handy Werk. Dallas
  20. I have never done much Kernel Switching over the years. I at one point determined that Parasolid files (at that time) were smaller flies and I had no problem with the output I was getting. I have just selected it as my default whenever I install new version of IC. I export all my parts as a parasolid file when I am done designing and go to CAM program to program parts for CNC mills. I use the tri-ball to rotate and position the part to the correct X0,Y0, Z0 orientation for CAM program and then export. That way when I open the part in CAM program it is ready to machine. My parts are not as curvy as yours so I can see why surface quality is important. Dallas
  21. Kevin I entered my info and it came up when I clicked my name. Now all you need is to get users to input info. I do not know if all users know that this page exists. Maybe you need to direct them to fill this info out when they have problem instead of just adding it in the forum page as a responce. thanks Dallas
  22. Just an Idea. Why not add some more information to the user Card selection that would contain the following information: 1. Computer type if known: 2. Location: (office/laptop) 3. Processer type and speed: 4. Installed RAM: 5. Version of IC: 6. IC Build number: 7. Graphics card: 8. Graphics driver used: And have it so the information on both desk and laptop were available. It seems that a lot of time is lost when every one needs to ask what version, the again how much RAM do you have and then what graphics card are you using, etc., etc. That way you at IC could see at a glance and build a data base of the equipment and could answer the questions faster, especially since this is not a web site addressed only form the same time zone. Also users could click on card and know if the problem might be in the same combination of equipment they are using. Dallas
  23. Tom How about this new motorcycle. It could be yours for 45,000 EUros. I have access to two of them. Dallas
  24. Can someone tell me why this happens? when I have rendering set other then software the threaded holes (or fasteners) do not show proper appearance. Dallas
