when you select your part/ assembly note where the (Anchor) "green dot with post-it pin" is then when you start triball note to see if it comes on somewhere else. this works unless you have re-positioned the original anchor point (green dot). Dallas

There is a free program called CutePDF which allows you to select it in place of your printer when printing. it is so far advanced as it relates to clarity and sharpness. I have attached two files, one (the blurry one is IC Export) the other is CutePDF. IC needs to talk to these people. This is a box I wired using the method Kevin was talking about. Dallas it takes getting accustom to but by driving the guide curve around with triball and then pressing "P" where you want points you can drag the triBall around in a plain otherwise the points jump around and attache to what ever. once you get the basic points, use more then you think you will need, you can go back and edit the guide curves to eliminate interference with other wires/hoses.

That chain and sprockets moving is just too cool. as for your belt moving. since it does not have features like the chain it would not be noticeable if it were moving. my suggestion is to have features on the Pulley like spokes or bolts. so that when you spin the pulleys at the correct speed then it would give impression that belt must be moving since the pulleys are moving. One way I find that I can "slightly" reduce file size is that I do my work in a file that has prefix "start" then when I am done I do a "Save as" and save the file without the word start. the resulting file is some smaller and opens faster. I agree with what with "t" I was not suggesting that this would work for your need, just in general that when file is re saved using "Save As" that it cleans up file and makes a little smaller. Cheat go to McMaster.com search for the size you want, click CAD in the drop down box when you select the part number you want and then download the model. been doing it that way for years. most of their fittings and fasteners have models. Dallas

when you are doing it watch which way the blue arrow is pointing. if it is pointing away from the part then right click it and flit the extrusion direction. Dallas

for some reason I could not open the .avi file but looking at the .ics file ok. Looks great. I played with editing the guide curve and when I did the cross section became oval so I edited the shape and rotated the grid slightly and it became round again. wish I could see video. can you put it on you tube? Does Ironcad need to be resident on the computer or is this a program that can stand alone on other computer? Dallas

They told that in the readme. I do not really like it either. But I can understand it. When I need a file to be opened in older version I have to Export as a parisolid file. This is not great if you need to do a lot of edits. It would be nice if we had the ability to Export in an older version. Dallas

Question? Why do the letters from the "Negative Letters" come in upside down in relation to coordinate system (flipped in "Y" Axis)? If I were cutting Stencils’ these might be good. but they are not smooth letters they are constructed with segments and not smooth arcs. Dallas

Yes It has happened several times to me. But can not remember exact things doing that might have caused or were simular to each occurence. Dallas

Example: When you are doing an offset of say .100” and then you come back to off something else the .100” need to be there so you won’t need to reenter. IC does not produce CNC “G” Code. I use MasterCam to produce my CNC programs. I use IC to produce all my 3D models. I create all the parts for a complete machine in IC and then save each part separately. I open each part and use the tri-ball to rotate and move the part to where I want the X,Y,Z “0” to be and then “Export” the part to parasolid (.x_t) file that I can open in MasterCam. I keep rotating and moving and exporting till I have all the orientations I need for all the programs. The part comes in at the correct X,Y,Z “0” I either delete the solid body and use the lines/arcs to machine or if it is a part that I want to surface machine I leave the solid body. It is so much easier to create the parts in IC and then bring into MasterCam as Solid then it is to have to recreate the part. Dallas

If you are going to add a way to cube and un-cube. Why can IC not just use this tecnique automatical to save and open files. Have an option to "Save Compressed" and then when the file is opened it automatically de-compresses. Dallas
