bbuche
I have a weird question. I am using formulas in my part description using the length of my shape to drive the part number. For visual purposes I need the part to be 1/4" smaller but I want it to display the proper size. Does anybody know if I can do a formula like shape size + 1/4" = final size to display in my part number. example= ="VS Straight Tube-"&Shape1\Sizebox\Height &"-in" Sorry if this is confusing. Thanks for any help you can give.
Jonas@Solidmakarna
Hi Brian, This can be done with the Code Generator tool of IC Mechanical. http://www.ironcad.it/en/manuale/code-generator Maybe also with the Dynamic Part Numbering function from v2016. IronKevin
=&Shape1\Sizebox\Length + 0.25in Seems to work for me, my shape is 4.75 inches long and the Part Number then displays as 5. You can enter: ="VS " &Shape1\Sizebox\Length + 0.25in &" in" To get the full string with added text.
