Cutting a Pie

Maybe to make a parameter model....

Pie.mp4

Please pay attention on assemble/part/intellishape levels when you set parameters!!!

1. Set Angle parameter aa on Intellishape lavel

2. Make Pattern on part level

3. Number parameter Numb on Assemble level

4. Add " deg" after 360 in expression to avoid errors

Now, all you need is to change Number parameter on assemble level... You can change size on Intellishape level or latter add radius parameter like angle parameter.....

I can explain latter... I`m in a hurry now wink.gif

Another way could be to just take a pie from tha SHAPES catalog.

Set the angle and then use the Triball to create copies. Right drag when you rotate, that gives the option to use LINKéd copies.

To put in the PIE angle, click the Size box white square at the bottom. Then IC shows another handle set where you can put in the angle.

Thank you for the responses.

To clarify, I am actually trying to divide or cut a single shape into multiple segments.

For simplicity I said it was a solid disk, but in reality it will be a pre-exisiting design (imported parasolid) of an automotive wheel. I need to cut the wheel into segments so I can apply forces and constraints in NEiNastran.

If I understand them correctly, both suggestions so far create the pie shapes from scratch - not by cutting or dividing an existing shape.

Anybody else have a suggestion?

All advice is appreciated.

Thanks,

-Geoff
