This was practically before CAD existed, and we learned these amazing ways to determine layouts and stuff using a sheet of paper and "projected views". I remember how exciting it was to be able to locate, for instance, the location of a hole in the roof of a shed through which a guy wire for a new nearby tower needed to pass.
