This question just came up again: Why not just buy a new gamer card? For half the price it looks like you get twice the video card... more CUDA cores, larger memory interface, more bandwidth, etc. etc.?

 

This link is a couple years old but looks like a good comparison. Updating a chip is one thing, but I'd rather not bother with any mods on a new card if I can help it and wanted to see what other IC users might have to say.
