Is there a way to use the mate/align tool for orienting the ball in the socket and applying a constraint to keep the ball and socket centers locked in position? Cary OConnor Posted May 5, 2003 Share Posted May 5, 2003 Hi, We can apply a constraint from the center of the sphere to an edge of a cylinder by using the SmartDimensions at this time(Does this solve your need). To create: Select the Sphere. Select Linear SmartDimension Hold the Control Key down and select the Sphere (This should snap to the anchor of the sphere which should be in the center). Next select the desired edge of the cylinder. Right-Click on the dimension and select value (0) and select lock. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
