tlehnhaeuser
I am trying to assign a different image to a stad catalog of parts we are creating. When I go to "Change Icon" it looks for an *.ico file. Is there a way to change image files to an *.ico file or is there an easier way to do this? Tom - Magnacad
Guest IronKevin
Hi Tom, You will need an image conversion progam to change standard images to .ico format. Blackboard ImageVU is a cheap example I just found on the web: http://store.yahoo.com/bsoftware/ You may even be able to find a free program out on the web, check sites like www.cnet.com or www.davecentral.com I personally don't have an application to recommend (Internally I think we create icons with part of Microsoft's devlopment tools which are too expense for just this task alone). Robert Andersson
Acctually Icon files are .BMP files just renamed to .ico Besides that they have a specific size (in pixels) and a specific number of colors. Make sure that your icons contains the standard icon sizes (16x16, 32x32, and 48x48 in both 16-colors and 256-colors). tlehnhaeuser
Robert, I tried your method and it works great. Just one thing for some reason it always changes the background to black even if the original image had a white backgroung. Any ideas? Thanks Tom
